Youth Season 2 is officially happening. HBO has renewed Sharon Horgan’s comedy for a second season, giving viewers another chance to follow Alex as she navigates relationships, family responsibilities, and the unexpected challenges of turning 50.
HBO announced the renewal on November 2, 2026, just one day after the first-season finale aired. Although the news confirms the show’s return, HBO has not yet revealed a premiere date, production schedule, or the full Season 2 cast.
Here is everything we know so far about Youth Season 2.
Has Youth Been Renewed for Season 2?
Yes. HBO officially renewed Youth for Season 2 on November 2, 2026.
The announcement came shortly after the show’s eight-episode first season concluded. HBO also described Youth as one of its top five comedy launches globally, highlighting the strong response to Sharon Horgan’s latest series.
Horgan welcomed the renewal, expressing her excitement about returning to the show and working with the cast and creative team again.
The decision means Alex’s story will continue, although viewers will have to wait for further details about the new episodes.
Youth Season 2 Release Date: When Could It Premiere?
HBO has not announced an official release date for Youth Season 2.
The second season is confirmed, but there is no production start date or confirmed premiere window yet. As a result, it’s too early to predict exactly when the series will return.
The first season premiered on September 20, 2026, with two episodes before continuing with weekly releases. Its finale aired on November 1.
If production follows a similar schedule to other HBO comedy series, the next season could take some time to arrive. However, that remains speculation until HBO shares an official timeline.
We will update this article when the network confirms the release date.
Youth Season 2 Cast: Who Could Return?
HBO has not published a complete Season 2 cast list yet. However, Sharon Horgan is expected to return as Alex, and she has confirmed she’s excited to work with the ensemble again.
The first season featured:
- Sharon Horgan as Alex
- Rupert Friend as Patrick
- Sharlene Whyte as Sam
- Aran Murphy as Ruari
- Robbie Gee as Frank
The first season also included Douglas Hodge, Harriet Walter and Anne Reid.
These performers form the central ensemble, but not all have formally confirmed returns for Season 2.
What Could Happen in Youth Season 2?
Specific plot details remain under wraps, but Season 1 leaves several personal and professional questions open.
Alex is a divorced woman entering a new stage of life while balancing her career, romantic relationships, and family responsibilities. Her son Ruari’s return home creates another challenge, while her complicated connections with Patrick and Malcolm add further uncertainty.
The Season 1 finale also leaves viewers with questions about Alex’s relationship with Malcolm and what his arrival at her agency could mean for her professional life.
Season 2 could explore the consequences of these developments, particularly how Alex manages the overlap between her personal and working relationships.
These are possibilities based on the first season, not confirmed story details.
